Don Davis Collection

64 lots from the Don Davis Collection are set to go under the hammer this Saturday, April 27, in Fort Worth, Texas. What makes it so interesting is the range of cars that have all been set with no reserve. A pari of Mercedes-Benz 300SL gullwings for example, as well as a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS , a 1950 Oldsmobile 88 Deluxe club coupe (there’s a convertible, too),  2005 Ford GT,  1954 Chrysler GS-1 Special by Ghia (estimated $700,000 to $800,000), rose-pink 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham ($150,000-$200,000), 1965 Lamborghini 350 GT coupe, a 1967 Toyota 2000GT and a 1988 Porsche 959 are all up for grabs.

It started at a young age with bedroom posters, the Countach of course. This slowly grew into a super car die-cast model collection, fifty five 1:18 models at the last count. At which point it had almost taken full control, the incurable Mad Car Disease ran deep though my veins all the way to the bone. And things for my loved ones just got worse as the cars where now being bought at 1:1 scale, after a BMW, HSV, and couple of Audi's, the disease reached my brain, pushing me over the edge and down the rabbits hole into the world of the bedroom poster.
