BMW have pulled the covers of its new 2-Series Coupe and the M235i targeted at the premium compact market. Its boasts a specially modified, aerodynamically optimised body design, BMW M Performance limited-slip differential, all of which is paired with the most powerful petrol engine developed so far for a BMW M Performance Automobile. The standard 18-inch M light-alloy wheels are mixed, with 225/40 R18 for the front and 245/35 R18 at the rear. All of this combined is suggesting that the new M235i is going to be a seriously fun car to drive.
The M235i is powered by an new M performance Twin Turbo inline 6 cylinder engine that produces 240kw (326 hp)and will haul the coupe to 100km/h in 5 seconds. This engine benefits from the latest development in M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology with specific modifications to the cooling system, power management and sound tuning. Generating torque of 450 Newton metres (332 lb-ft) between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm will give this engine its imposing pulling power. Standard with a 6 speed manual gearbox the M235i also comes with dry sump lubrication and a short shift facility for particularly sporty gear changes. BMW have not yet release the full list of specs, but all signs are pointing to this being a lightweight, very fast and very exciting new edition to their lineup.
