citroenRelease-4-X3

For the last few years Citroen has been without a permanent home in Wellington, sharing lots with some of the other euro brands where ever it could find the space. But now thanks to the team at Gazley’s, they has a new home, and we went along to the launch of their new Citroen showroom to check it out and what they have to offer.

Citroen has seen a  growth of 16% over the last year in New Zealand, armed with this new showroom and a new importer relationship they plan to boost this to 25% they year after. A large percentage of Citroen’s sold in NZ are from their prestigious DS line which continues to grow, and all of which were showcased in there new Wellington home.

From the cheeky Citroen DS3 ($38,990), to their flagship luxury hatchback the DS5 ($62,9909) which we road tested earlier in the year. But crowd seemed to love the two new stars of the evening, the new DS3 Cabrio, a sliding roof variant of the DS3 with a 88kw 1.6L engine, starting at $40,990 and the new  C3 Seduction with the same engine priced at $25,990.

This super competitive sector of the market has been heating up with more and more Euro brands priced at or cheaper then the latest vehicles from Japan and the US. Citroen exciting DS range gives them a bit of an edge as its something different that other brands don’t offer, and this this exactly why we will be keeping our eyes what Citroen unveils over the next few years.
