There are a few things you’d expect to be standard on the new Mustang, aggressive styling, check, quite a lot of power form a rather inefficient engine, check, integral-link independent rear suspension, eh ….. hang on, say what now……. Thats right, Ford have made the decisions to lose the legacy live axle and go with an IRS system.
I know what you are thinking, don’t a lot of manufactures already use this tech, even in a lot of their mid range models. Yes, Yes they do, and IRS is nothing to stand up and sing about, but when its put on something that the Ford company was calling traditional, while being one of the factors holding this cars potential back, a lot of us breath a sigh of relief and say thank christ for that, its about time. Thats not saying what they had wasn’t any good, its just that what everyone else had was quite a lot better, and if they want their cars to stand toe to toe with everyone else, they have to move with the times as well. 
The really good news is that all the other features you expect to see are still there, like the 5.0-liter V8 that produces 420 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. The aggressive styling is pushed even further with a lower and wider stance. This GT also marks the return of the Mustang fastback with a sleeker profile front windshield and fast back rear glass screen. Oh they have also upgrade to a new double-ball-joint front MacPherson strut system which offers the use of larger, more powerful brakes and is expected to make this the best stopping Mustang yet.
