Carlos Sousa of Team Haval Rally in their nimble Haval H8/Michelin (based on the BMW X3 CC), took out Stage 01 honours for the Car class.
As a shake-down special stage it was to be more than a challenge for some. Set at around 2205m in altitude across the Argentina bad lands, the heat and terrain caused a good toll on the competition.
