Since 1999, BMW have been the “Official Car of MotoGP”, helping keep the racetracks of the Motor Cycling World Championship safe all over the world. With 19 races on the calendar this year and with the season getting underway on the 23rd of March in Qatar, BMW M GmbH will be a debuting the BMW M4 Track Safety Car with the slogan “M. The most powerful letter in the world”.
The new BMW M4 Coupé arrives with racing genes, a final examination that consisted of thousands of laps of the iconic NürburgringNordschleife. Developed completely from scratch, the six cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower turbo technology generates a maximum torque of 550 Nm at a top output of 431 hp. In doing so, it exceeds the peak value of its predecessor, the BMW M3, by approaching 40 per cent.
Accelerating from nought to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. The M4 was designed with ultimate driving dynamics at its core for enthusiast to use on the racetrack.
Paired with an innovative cooling system and the fact that it weighs 80 kilograms less than its predecessor. The M4 Safety Car features many of BMW M Performance Parts, such as the titanium M Performance exhaust system with carbon finishers, which is being used for the first time, a black front grille, carbon front splitter with blade, M Performance rear diffusor and carbon rear spoiler. Carbon mirror caps and performance side skirts optimise the appearance and aerodynamic properties of the Safety Car.
