Scott McLaughlin was in 2nd place has he went into the final lap of race two of the opening V8 Supercar season in Adelaide. This was a great position for the rookier driver as he entered into his second V8 Season but Jamie Whincup wanted to take 2nd and was close behind him.
Whincup went to over take and the two stayed side by side through several corners in a great display of driving from both. Eventually Whincup took the lead of the two but Scott was not going to go down easy, staying close on Whincup’s rear bumper waiting for his moment. That moment was to come on the final corner going into the main straight when Whincup slightly overcooked it and went wide, Scott was ready and in his words “I just plucked her in first, gave it some Jandel and f*** yea” to take second place across the line.
This show of performance goes to show that Volvo are her to show they can make v8 race cars and they mean business.
