BMW continues to expand its 2014 range with the official confirmation and pricing for the 4 Series Gran Coupe, available as either a 428i Sport Line or six-cylinder 435i M Sport.

4GC_2With almost identical exterior dimensions to its two-door variant, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is 4,638 mm in length, 1,825 mm wide and shares the same wheelbase and track of the 4 Series Coupe.  The major difference is with the Gran Coupe roofline, which sits 12 mm higher and extends a further 112 mm towards the rear of the car. The Grand Coupe has 35 litre more luggage space then the coupe, offering 480 litres of room and accessible through a large opening tailgate, which also features electric opening and closing assistance. With the combination of the rear folding seat you can expand this space to 1,300 litres

The Gran Coupe range has the same power train options as the two-door Coupe models, all running the latest BMW TwinPower turbo engines and eight-speed Sports Automatic transmission with the Auto Stop/Start, Brake Energy Regeneration, ECOPRO mode as standard.Both models come with 19-inch alloy wheels and Adaptive M Suspension as standard, as well as Adaptive LED headlights, and a lines package is also standard fitment. In the case of the 428i, Sport Line is standard, whereas the 435i comes complete with the M Sport package.

The range topping 435i Gran Coupe comes equipped Adaptive M suspension, variable sport steering and high performance four-piston fixed calliper brake,  substantially enhances that improve the dynamics and agility of this model. Additional features such as the M Sport package which include 19-inch M double-spoke alloy wheels, M aerodynamics package, M leather steering wheel and a host of exclusive M Sports package trim features such as kidney grille with nine bars in high-gloss black and BMW individual roof-liner in anthracite – serves to further reflect the sporty pedigree and dynamic nature of this 435i Gran Coupe.

Both vehicles come with a five year warranty and road side assistance as standard, as well as three yearscheduled servicing.

It started at a young age with bedroom posters, the Countach of course. This slowly grew into a super car die-cast model collection, fifty five 1:18 models at the last count. At which point it had almost taken full control, the incurable Mad Car Disease ran deep though my veins all the way to the bone. And things for my loved ones just got worse as the cars where now being bought at 1:1 scale, after a BMW, HSV, and couple of Audi's, the disease reached my brain, pushing me over the edge and down the rabbits hole into the world of the bedroom poster.
