Can Your SUV Stand Up To NATO Rounds OR An AK47

BMW-X5-High-Security-F15-05

At the 2014 Moscow Auto Show BMW showcased their new F15 BMW X5 Security Plus and released the first official photos of its new armoured luxury SUV. To pass BMW’s acceptable standards and meet the requirements of the protection level VR6 the X5 Security Plus was put through a “meat grinder”, and as you can see from the following photo, they have completely assaulted it with a vast array of different calibres rounds. This X5 can successfully resist ammunition up to 7.62 x 51 mm NATO rounds from a distance of 10 meters.

The F15 BMW X5 Security Plus is not exactly equipped with your standard brochure options. The windows for example have been replaced with bulletproof polycarbonate versions and the entire chassis is constructed of high-strength steel. Its safe to say that economy has fallen to the bottom of the important list. No confirmed information on how much all this costs, but if you need to protect your family from AK47 fire, the BMW X5 Security Plus is the SUV for you.
