If you have had anything to do with tuning imports in the last 18 years or have driven past Meremere Dragway on a summers Friday eve then you will no doubt know 4 & Rotary and the name Azhar Bhamji. What you may not know is how he took an old Morris Minor gave it some love and ended up running some of the best enthusiast driven motor sport events in the country.
Azhar can often be seen at events all over the country racing by at great speed either on foot or in the 4&Rotary slammed cart, handing out V Energy drinks, but it is a very rear thing to get tim to stand still long enough to have a chat. Fortunately for you I managed to wrangle him into a corner in his office in Blockhouse Bay in Auckland and do just that.
As we fast approach the 4&Rotary South Island Champs in November and look forward to the 4&Rotary Nationals in Auckland come January, this is his story. From Dairies to Drags and beyond.
