2006 will see the launch of the Mazda Global MX-5 Cup, which will be a set of spec series races in North America, Europe and Asia. Drivers will race identical race-prepped Mx-5’s that will be distributed from a single supplier with a 2.0-liter SkyActiv four-cylinder engine, much like the street car. That is all we know about it for now, the rest of the details will be released next year when Mazda is ready to start taking orders for prospective competitors.
