Over the last few months the boys at Mighty Car Mods have been quietly working on an old Subaru Liberty wagon, trying to turn it into a street legal, practical daily driver which will also run the quarter mile in the 11.x second range.

Did they manage it? I recommend you watch the whole thing to find out.

The series goes through the strip down of the original car, the removal of most of its mechanical bits and installation of a bigger 3.6 litre boxer motor from a Subaru SUV.

They then fabricate a custom turbo install, with hand made headers and exhaust, aftermarket ECU and custom dyno programming.

I found it all really interesting and the fabrication work is excellent.

It really is worth the watch, totalling about 5.5 hours in ten episodes.
