There’s a few things that’s happened this week in the world of cars. Audi launched a big new SUV, Hyundai gave a few cars some facelift, and someone somewhere has made a clever new diesel engine that’s cleaner than the old one. But none of that matters when you’ve got this. It’s the Infiniti Vision GT Concept and it’s part of the whole Vision GT Concept cars as part of the Gran Turismo 6 PlayStation game.

For those familiar with these concepts, Infiniti’s offering is just outrageous as everyone else’s. For those who aren’t familiar, well let’s just celebrate the fantastic shock-and-awe looks of this thing. You have to hand it to the designers at Infiniti, they’ve really outdone themselves this time. I’d go as far as to say they’ve outdone everyone else.

It’s definitely an exaggeration of the company’s current design theme. There’s the signature grille and headlight combo, flowing and pronounced lines through the body, and a very ‘Marmite’ rear end. The rear wing in particular looks very F1-ish, not a coincidence at all. For all its outrageousness there is an inexplainable beauty about it.

As a way of changing the public’s perspectives of the brand, this is a very clever marketing ploy. There’s no official details on performance, spec, or even a production version. Much like the other Vision GT Concepts then. But let’s not forget who Infiniti are made by – Nissan. How does this body on Nissan GT-R running gear sound? That’d be one way to get kids away from their PlayStations and out driving in the real world.
