UK Police Officer Shows Up To Work In A Ferrari, Ends Up In Prison

We’ve all done something stupid with a car. For example turning on the wipers when you wanted the indicators, locking the keys inside, or reversing into a mailbox. But what a policeman in England did was on a whole different level of stupidity.

Osman Iqbal, an officer of West Midlands Police, must’ve been rather dissatisfied with his police issued Vauxhall as he ran business involving money laundering, drugs, and a brothel. Business must’ve been good because Osman bought himself a very nice Ferrari 458 Italia, in Rosso Corsa obviously.

Great car, perfect colour choice, a shame then that the car was perhaps more intelligent than the driver as Osman showed up to work in it. Now not only did this raise a few eyebrows but it also raised suspicion too. Rightfully so, a police officer’s salary isn’t going to be able to buy a brand spanking new Italian supercar and nobody knows this better than, well, other police officers.

The discovery of the 458 was only the tip of the iceberg. After a bit of digging police found that good old Osman had bank accounts for dummy businesses used to launder money to brothels. He also attempted to access police records on behalf of a religious leader. Iqbal has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

I’m sure in his mind he had fantasies of the Ferrari Testarossa in Miami Vice, the Ferrari 575M in Bad Boys II, and the Ferrari 328 in Magnum P.I. Unfortunately for Iqbal his reality less prancing horse and more prison ass.
