Jono Mercer went from a kid tinkering on old Toyotas with his dad to being a mechanic for Barwell Motorsport, one of the UK’s most successful privately-owned professional racing teams competing in races like the Spa 24Hour and British GT series.

Jono in fact is my cousin and it had been close to 15 years since we caught up. This summer I was able to catch him via Skype while he was home visiting his family. This is his story of how he went from back yard tinkerer to world class race mechanic.
