Ford’s new camera system lets you see around corners

Have you ever been stuck at one of those junctions where you just can’t quite see if it’s clear? You have to edge the car farther and farther out until you can see properly, potentially putting yourself in danger.

Ford have a new technology designed to make it safer in that situation. A couple of front mounted one megapixel cameras which feed to the in-dash screen and give you a better view to each side. It’s another cool use for the new trend of adding more and more cameras and technology into our cars.

The 2017 Super Duty truck for the US market can be specced with seven cameras, for seeing around corners, front and rear views, side views for parking, assisted trailer hitching, lane departure detection and auto high beam lights.

It’s a pretty simple idea really but if implemented well it could be a lifesaver.
