A Sunday with Caffeine and Classics

One of the best things about being a car guy in New Zealand is that you probably grew up exposed to everything with wheels. From the Hot Rod shows your dad took you to, though the era  of JDM overdone body kits you thought was the bomb on your 1992 Prelude up to the Euro Wagon you have now, with more horses under than hood than any family car has any right to.

If we are all honest, what we really love is sharing our passion, regardless of offset, with others who have a similar passion for automotive engineering.

One of the best examples of this is Auckland’s Caffeine & Classics. A monthly classic vehicle meet, held on the last Sunday of each month at Smales Farm on Auckland’s North Shore. Open to all classic vehicles, including classic and vintage, hot rods, muscle cars, and motorcycles officially but if you have a unique ride that you have poured your heart and soul into they will welcome you with open arms.

Entry is free, and the public is more than welcome. The Caffeine is supplied via a coffee truck and there are plenty of food and beverage options around Smales Farm. But lets face it, we don’t go for the coffee, we go for the classics. What you will find wandering the carpark on a Sunday morning is everything from Hot Rods with chrome on every unpainted surface to Mini’s and VW Combi Vans with past and present supercars in between.

If you want to know more about Caffeine and Classics and want to come along with the family at the end of this month be sure to keep an eye on their FaceBook page for updates along with links to a multitude of photos taken by fans and entrants of the event.
