SPECTRE-Film-Stills

So if for some reason you haven’t seen the new trailer for the upcoming 24th Bond film, Spectre, do so below – it’s fantastic. But while we get to see more of the plot, and of the key characters, we also get a good look at the cars.

From this trailer we can see that 007’s bespoke Aston Martin DB10 will come with a 6-speed manual box (because changing gears with a stick still looks cooler on than hitting a paddle) and can shoot flames out of its exhausts. More than that, it seems the DB10 will be able to drive a through an (innocent) Alfa Romeo 166.

The cars aren’t immune to some Hollywood magic though as the DB10 uses a few bits and bobs from the ageing V8 Vantage, 4.7-litre V8 included. 0-60 mph is done in 3.2 seconds. That’s no problem for tootling around the streets of Rome but it seems the baddie will have a pretty special car too.

We’ve known the Jaguar C-X75 will be featured in this film but we get a better look at it here. Unlike previous concepts we’ve seen which have either been grey or blue, this one is a not-so-subtle orange. Because when you’re a Bond villain, who cares about resale value or blending in.

Oh there’ll be some people in the movie too. The human stars in the film include Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Ray Fiennes, Monica Bellucci, Ben Whisaw, Naomie Harris, and Lea Seydoux.

Spectre will hit New Zealand cinemas on November 12. Come come Mr Bond, I expect you to drive.

Words cannot begin to describe how much I love cars but it's worth a try. Grew up obsessed with them and want to pursue a career writing about them. Anything from small city cars to the most exotic of supercars will catch my attention.
