Maserati Steps Into The SUV Ring, With The Levante

Maserati has finally revealed their first SUV, named the Levante. It will get its world debut at the Geneva Motor International Motor Show on 1 March 2016. You can very easily see the evolution from their existing range of saloon and sports cars. Taking elements from the Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranCabrio.

Maserati say: At a technical level, the Levante’s chassis is designed to combine the outstanding on-road performance typical of every Maserati with unrivalled handling even on very low-grip surfaces and an excellent off-road performance and ride. The new SUV boasts a high level of content as standard, with all versions featuring: sophisticated electronic suspension with controlled damping and air springs, which can be set on several levels, “Q4” intelligent all-wheel drive and eight speed automatic transmission specially calibrated for the brand’s new SUV.

No word on the engine spec’s, other then they will all be Euro6-compliant. It’s probably safe to say, it will be grunty and will sound amazing, something Maserati have never failed at.
