Auckland, 15 June 2016. Ford New Zealand’s exhibits have always been a highlight at Fieldays, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest agricultural event, and they’re raising the bar once again in 2016.This year, Ford is taking a brand new direction at Fieldays – they’ve created what’s sure to be an unparalleled driving experience, on a course that includes a mountain, a bridge, and a water-wading tunnel!

Attendees to Fieldays this year will be able to test out the new Ford Everest Titanium at the ‘Ford Everest Off the Grid Experience’ – a uniquely designed driving track where professional drivers will guide attendees through a range of off-road experiences, including a mountain, a bridge, a water-wading tunnel and axle articulation holes.

After spending several years focusing on its top-selling Ranger ute, the Ford exhibit will showcase Ford’s newest SUV model, the Ford Everest, which made its public debut at Fieldays in 2015.

The new Ford Everest is a hugely versatile SUV that is equally at home in busy urban traffic and in the most extreme off-road environments New Zealand has to offer. Its unique blend of tough capability and exceptional on-road comfort will go far beyond what our customers have come to expect from a seven-seat SUV.

At Fieldays this year, attendees will get the chance to experience that out for themselves, with Ford launching the “Everest Off the Grid Experience”, a uniquely designed driving track where professional drivers will guide attendees through a range of off-road experiences, including a mountain with a 45˚ incline, a bridge, a tunnel, water wading and axel articulation holes.

The course is designed to showcase the outstanding off-road capability of the all new Ford Everest, including features such as Hill Descent Control, Hill Launch Assist, an 800mm water-wading capability, 225mm ground clearance, four-mode terrain select system, and electronic rear differential lock.

With a rugged, heavily sculpted exterior that reflects its unshakeable toughness and premium design, the new Everest blends strength, smart features and style to bring consumers a truly capable and versatile SUV – a vehicle that’s equally at home on the clock or off the grid. While making no compromises on refinement and comfort, the Everest also embodies Ford’s fun-to-drive DNA with rewarding and dynamic off-road handling.

“The Everest has the off-road capabilities of the Ranger, and was designed from the ground up with the durability to take on the most inhospitable environments,” said Simon Rutherford, Managing Director of Ford New Zealand. “But it’s an incredibly versatile and refined vehicle that is equally at home on-road and in urban environments, with a range of intuitive and practical technologies that make it one of the smartest vehicles in its segment.”

The new Ford Everest has an RRP starting at $75,990, with a limited Fieldays special price of $68,990 + ORC.

It started at a young age with bedroom posters, the Countach of course. This slowly grew into a super car die-cast model collection, fifty five 1:18 models at the last count. At which point it had almost taken full control, the incurable Mad Car Disease ran deep though my veins all the way to the bone. And things for my loved ones just got worse as the cars where now being bought at 1:1 scale, after a BMW, HSV, and couple of Audi's, the disease reached my brain, pushing me over the edge and down the rabbits hole into the world of the bedroom poster.
