MG Motor today announced launch pricing for its first electric model for the New Zealand market – the MG ZS EV – priced from $49,990 plus on-road costs. Apparently, to encourage Kiwis to make the leap to an electric future, MG Motor is rewarding its first 50 customers this substantial incentive, available until December 2019.
To mark the occasion, MG Motor has opened its pre-order sales registration, available through its official dealer network, as well as online via mgmotor.co.nz/models/mg-zsev. First deliveries of the MG ZS EV will arrive into the New Zealand market from mid-2020.

Electrification
MG ZS EV customers should get a driving range of up to 262 kilometres from a single charge on the WLTP combined cycle. Owners can make the most of the vehicle’s three driving modes, Eco, Normal and Sport, allowing the car to adapt to their everyday driving needs.
Powered by a 44.5kWh, water-cooled, lithium-ion battery, delivering 353Nm of instant torque and 105kW of power, the car is charged via CCS and Type 2 ports, mounted within the front grille. The MG ZS EV can be rapid charged to 80% in just 40 minutes from a 50kW rapid charging point, while owners can fully charge their vehicles in seven hours, utilising a standard 7kW charger unit.
Design
The MG ZS EV utilises the MG ZS’s framework, a compact SUV featuring a modern, personalised exterior and a stargazer panoramic sunroof. Inside, the MG ZS EV features the MG ZS’ 8” colour touchscreen, integrated Apple CarPlay, six-speaker surround sound audio, and satellite navigation, making the MG ZS EV the brand’s most technologically advanced model in the market.
