New Mirage for a new decade

New design upgrades and advanced safety features usher in a new generation of the Mitsubishi Mirage.

The latest Mirage will enter the market as the safest of its lineage. New features including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) and a reversing camera ensure greater protection and confidence on the road.

An attractive facelift brings it into the decade, incorporating the sharp, modern design of the Dynamic Shield that is now a distinctive trait of the Mitsubishi family. Inside the vehicle, interior upgrades offer a higher level of comfort, accessibility, and functionality.

“These significant upgrades, paired with a competitive launch price of $19,900, make this popular model a formidable contender in its field,” said Reece Congdon, MMNZ Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs.

“More than ever, Kiwis want a compact vehicle that provides a combination of safety and excitement. The new Mirage delivers on both fronts, seamlessly blending smart new features to provide a modern product for discerning drivers.”

“The art of smart”

The introduction of LDW, FCM and the reversing camera joins carry-over features from previous models. These include driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags, four-wheel Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and Active Stability Control, plus Hill-Start Assist and Smartbrake technology. Combined, these features make it the safest Mirage yet.

Dressing up the safety features is the exterior led by a new bumper, hood, and chrome grille, fitting the ‘protection and performance’ vision Mitsubishi has implemented in other recent model releases. An aesthetic change to the rear bumper and new 15” alloy wheels with a machine-finished design round out the external appeal.

There’s an addition of daytime running lights meaning other road users won’t miss it on a dark day, and new halogen headlights, finished with an angular design, improves visibility with increased brightness and reach.

Stepping into the vehicle, a black-on-black colour scheme with geometric designed fabric upholstery, carbon print door trim and a soft-touch armrest create a blend of style and comfort.

Cruise control is now standard and entertainment at drivers’ fingertips courtesy of a 7” touchscreen Smartphone Link Display Audio, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Keeping the driver aware at all times is a refined combination meter design that displays the outside temperature, fuel usage, as well as LDW and FCM warnings.

“The Mirage offers a comprehensive package at a great price up front and continues to deliver value thanks to impressive fuel economy of 5L/100km, and peace of mind with a ten-year powertrain warranty,” said Congdon. “This reflects our commitment to cost-efficiency and product quality over the life of our vehicles.”

Rolling out with a new sand yellow livery, the new is priced at $19,900, with a special introductory 1/3 1/3 1/3 finance offer of 0% interest over 24 months.
