The arrival of the new Citroen C3 in New Zealand next month heralds an era of what Citroen says is a bold customisation and design focus for those who want to stand out from the crowd.

A array of colours, as well as body, roof and interior pack combinations, partnered with distinctive elements such as the renowned AirBump system, deliver a customisable vehicle that they say expresses self-assured confidence and charisma.

“With the new C3, there are almost 100 combinations of exterior aesthetics which can be chosen to project the owner’s personality,” said the CEO of Auto Distributors New Zealand, Chris Brown.

“In a year which has been so focused on following the rules, such as during Covid-induced periods of lockdown, it’s refreshing when a new model such as the C3 enables self-expression in such creative, individual and fun ways.”

Individualisation of the new C3 isn’t restricted only to features such as wing-mirror caps.  New Citroen owners can choose from seven body colours, four different roof treatments and four individual colour packs, allowing for 97 possible combinations.

The C3 also introduces a new Citroen front-end identity inspired by the brand’s latest concept cars, while the overall look is completed by a fresh new 16-inch alloy wheel design.

Complementary to the exterior enhancement is a desire by Citroen to make every journey a serenely comfortable experience. This is achieved by the introduction of new, wider ‘Advanced Comfort’ seats with well profiled lumbar support padding and driver arm rest which comes with two new optional interior trims: Emerald and Techwood ambience.

The C3’s attitude extends to its use of technology and safety features, with a selection of Driving Aids, extending to Speed Limit Recognition, Lane Departure Warning, Colour Reverse Camera and rear parking sensors on offer with the new model.

Additional aids are also available as part of Safety Pack $1,500, including Blind Spot Monitoring, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, front parking sensors and more.

The innovative AirBump design found on each side of the C3 also serves to hopefully protect the vehicle from everyday knocks and scrapes.

From a technical perspective, the new Citroen C3 is powered by award winning 1.2-litre PureTech 110, a three-cylinder turbo petrol engine which features Start and Stop fuel-saving technology.  The inclusion of a six-speed automatic transmission helps deliver fuel-efficiency of 5.2-litres per 100km.

The new model will be available in one variant from $29,990 and a new five-year warranty comes as standard, ensuring further peace of mind motoring for Citroen drivers.

“The new C3 celebrates its individuality courtesy of unique design cues combined by offering unrivalled levels of personalisation, driver enjoyment and passenger comfort,” said Mr Brown.

How on earth to start this? I've been car/bike/truck crazy since I was a teen. Like John, I had the obligatory Countach poster on the wall. I guess I'm more officially into classic and muscle cars than anything else - I currently have a '65 Sunbeam Tiger that left the factory the same day as I left the hospital as a newborn with my mother. How could I not buy that car? In 2016 my wife and I drove across the USA in a brand-new Dodge Challenger, and then shipped it home. You can read more on www.usa2nz.co.nz. We did this again in 2019 in a 1990 Chev Corvette - you can read about that trip on DriveLife. I'm a driving instructor and an Observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists - trying to do my bit to make our roads safer.
