Nissan unveils new line-up for NZ – Z confirmed

Change is afoot at Nissan, and we’re not talking about the sort that eventually sees an embattled former executive flee authorities in a music equipment box.

Instead, we’re talking cars. In fact, the second half of 2022 will be one of the biggest six-month periods in Nissan New Zealand’s history, as the brand previews four major new models set to almost entirely refresh the Nissan line-up in New Zealand.

Despite industry-wide supply challenges, Nissan has locked in the production schedules for new models of the Pathfinder, X-TRAIL and Qashqai.

More importantly, Nissan has also confirmed a fourth vehicle to join the new line-up of SUVs. Yup, you guessed it – the all-new Nissan 400Z is due to arrive on New Zealand shores.

Nissan New Zealand Managing Director, Ben Hamilton, says that “all-new models set to arrive in New Zealand in the second half of 2022”. “The all-new Z, Pathfinder, X-TRAIL and Qashqai will join the just-updated Patrol, along with the tough and rugged Navara, to give Nissan one of the newest and most exciting model line-ups in the country.”

Nissan Qashqai

The new Nissan Qashqai will launch with four specs, a new engine, and advanced multi-link rear suspension across the range. According to Nissan, the Qashqai delivers a spacious and stylish SUV with enhanced safety features, combined with the spirit and stunning design expected of the Qashqai.

Nissan Pathfinder

The Nissan Pathfinder is all-new from the ground up. The new Pathfinder has a wider stance, a shorter front overhang, and a tougher face. The new Pathfinder offers an all-new nine-speed automatic transmission, all-new Intelligent 4WD with seven-position Drive and Terrain Mode Selector, as well as impressive towing capability.

Nissan X-TRAIL

The new Nissan X-TRAIL will arrive with a bold new exterior, a “family focused” interior as Nissan coins it, plus a comprehensive suite of safety systems.

Nissan 400Z

Engineered by and for the driving enthusiast, the new Nissan 400Z marks the seventh-generation of the iconic “Z” sports car. The new Z arrives with a driver-focused cabin complete with manual or nine-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive and a potent twin-turbocharged V6 engine.
