Range Rover’s flagship performance SUV is set to receive a brand-new edition, with the announcement of the Range Rover Sport SV EDITION TWO.

Just five vehicles are set to arrive in country for sale locally, arriving from March 2025.

Promising to be the most powerful and dynamic Range Rover ever, the Range Rover Sport SV EDITION TWO is the only Range Rover Sport fitted with a 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbocharged MHEV engine, producing a massive 467kW/750Nm. It is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 290km/h.

The vehicle includes an array of performance enhancing technologies including “the most advanced suspension system in its class” and a sensory audio system to provide customers with the peerless refinement expected of the marque, says the brand.

“The Range Rover Sport SV is a total stand-out in the Range Rover Sport lineup, with an unmatched blend of dynamic performance, modern luxury design, cutting-edge technology, and remarkable versatility,” says Steve Kenchington, CEO JLR New Zealand.

“We know our customers are going to love the Range Rover Sport SV EDITION TWO, but with limited numbers it won’t be here long. We’re certainly excited about its arrival.”

Range Rover says the new Sport SV EDITION TWO offers a dramatic performance‑honed exterior, with four new themes announced for 2024. “Each theme has been carefully curated to ensure its assertive presence and sporting personality on the road: Blue Nebula Matte, Ligurian Black Gloss, Marl Grey Gloss and Sunrise Copper Satin.”

Blue Nebula is paired with the new Satin Forged Carbon exterior pack, a painted carbon‑fibre bonnet and 23‑inch forged black alloy wheels – complemented by Blue Nebula brake calipers. Inside, SV Performance Seats are finished in Light Cloud and Ebony Windsor leather.

Exclusive front SV Performance Seats feature integrated headrests, carbon fibre backboards, an illuminated SV logo and more sculpted bolsters to hold the driver and their front‑seat passenger securely in place during high‑performance driving, claims Range Rover. The 16‑way adjustable seats feature massage functionality and are heated and cooled for maximum comfort. Cutting‑edge Body and Soul Seat in‑car sensory technology is fitted as standard.

Matching rear seats – also heated and cooled – feature a more dynamic design with pronounced side bolsters, yet retain powered recline and 60/40 split folding functionality.

Prospective buyers are encouraged to contact their local Range Rover retailer to discover more about this compelling new addition to the Range Rover family.

How on earth to start this? I've been car/bike/truck crazy since I was a teen. Like John, I had the obligatory Countach poster on the wall. I guess I'm more officially into classic and muscle cars than anything else - I currently have a '65 Sunbeam Tiger that left the factory the same day as I left the hospital as a newborn with my mother. How could I not buy that car? In 2016 my wife and I drove across the USA in a brand-new Dodge Challenger, and then shipped it home. We did this again in 2019 in a 1990 Chev Corvette - you can read about that trip on DriveLife, and again in 2023 buying a C5 Corvette and shipping it home. I'm a driving instructor and an Observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists - trying to do my bit to make our roads safer.
