Toyota has revealed the pricing for its 2025 model year high-performance GAZOO Racing (GR) sports cars.
Andrew Davis, Chief Strategy Officer of Toyota New Zealand and also responsible for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing in New Zealand, highlighted the significance of the upgrades to the GR models and Toyota’s commitment to delivering driver-centric vehicles.

“The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing range continues to set benchmarks in performance, engineering, and design. These updates showcase Toyota’s dedication to creating cars that excite and connect drivers to the road. With enhanced powertrains, refined dynamics, and stunning new features, the 2025 GR lineup is built for those real motoring enthusiasts who demand exceptional performance and driving pleasure,” says Davis.
Starting from $61,990, the upgraded 2025 Toyota GR Yaris features an uprated three-cylinder engine delivering an additional 21kW of power and 30Nm of torque. New for 2025 is the option of an 8-speed direct shift automatic transmission, joining the popular 6-speed intelligent manual (i-MT) variant. Enhanced cooling systems, a redesigned front bumper, and improved suspension further elevate its performance, claims Toyota. Inside, the GR Yaris boasts a lowered driving position, a 12.3-inch full-colour meter, and driver-oriented instrumentation.
The 2025 Toyota GR Corolla (automatic transmission) is $69,990, and retains its award-winning three-cylinder engine while gaining an additional 30Nm of torque. There is now the option of an 8-speed direct shift automatic transmission, as well as new cooling features and suspension upgrades.

The 2025 Toyota GR86 Hakone Edition is limited to an exclusive number of units in New Zealand and is priced at $61,990.
Paying homage to its motorsport roots with a Ridge Green exterior, bronze painted alloy wheels, and premium Ultrasuede and leather interior accents (tan accents and contrast stitching to be precise), the 2025 GR86 Hakone Edition blends heritage with modern performance, says Toyota. Powered by a 2.4L rear-wheel-drive powertrain, the GR86 Hakone Edition is available in limited quantities, with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

“TOYOTA GAZOO Racing is an important component of our offering here in New Zealand,” says Davis.
“We have an extremely successful motorsport programme and our GR production cars are released in limited numbers, designed for real vehicle enthusiasts that can have a single vehicle that is fun and challenging to drive, as well as serving as a daily driver. The GR development philosophy is also about pushing the limits for better. Our mission is to build ever better cars that put a smile on every driver’s face and it is our privilege to be able to bring these unique vehicles to the New Zealand market.”
