Hyundai New Zealand says it is excited to announce the upcoming arrival of the new TUCSON Series II. Featuring a hybrid powertrain and with significant upgrades in safety, design, multimedia and connectivity, the TUCSON Series II improves on what is already a very capable medium SUV, claims the company.

The TUCSON Series II boasts a refreshed exterior with a new grille and redesigned LED headlights. Inside, the cabin has also been overhauled, with new multimedia and driver display screens and the relocation of the gear selector to the steering column.

Not only does the TUCSON Series II feature a new look, but it also has more space than before. Compared to the previous TUCSON Hybrid, the Series II now utilises a longer wheelbase which results in improved 2nd row dimensions and increased cargo capacity.

The SUV now features a larger 12.3” high-definition touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a completely redesigned graphic interface.

For the first time, the TUCSON Series II comes standard with a 1.6T Hybrid powertrain. Combining turbocharged performance with hybrid technology, this system delivers reduced emissions and improved fuel efficiency. Hyundai claims it’s the perfect balance of performance and sustainability, tailored to meet the needs of environmentally conscious drivers. For owners that wish to venture off the beaten track, HTRAC All Wheel Drive is available on selected variants.

Safety has always been at the forefront of Hyundai’s vehicle design, and the TUCSON Series II is no exception. The updated model comes equipped with Hyundai’s latest SmartSense™ technology, including advanced driver-assistance systems such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA). With these features standard across all variants, the TUCSON Series II offers peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike.

At the pinnacle of the TUCSON Series II lineup is the N Line Limited model, which combines sport-inspired design with premium features. The N Line Limited boasts exclusive exterior styling elements, including a unique grille, aerodynamic accents, and larger alloy wheels. Inside, there is part Alcantara and leather trim with red stitching, a perforated leather steering wheel, and a suite of advanced technologies such as a panoramic sunroof, heads-up display, surround-view monitor, and a premium Bose audio system.

“The TUCSON Series II represents some significant improvements over its predecessor. With its enhanced safety features, striking design, and cutting-edge technology, coupled with the introduction of the highly regarded 1.6T Hybrid powertrain as standard, we believe the TUCSON Series II sets a new standard in the Medium SUV space”, says Scott Kelsey, CEO of Hyundai New Zealand.

The TUCSON Series II will be arriving at Hyundai dealerships across New Zealand from April 2025 and is priced from $54,990 plus on road costs.
