2025 Peugeot 5008: Powertrain
Built on Peugeot’s all-new STLA Medium platform, the company says the 5008 GT Hybrid introduces a next generation driving experience that blends performance, efficiency, and versatility. It’s powered by a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine paired with a 48V hybrid system, delivering a combined output of 145 hp (110 kW) and 230 Nm of torque. This advanced powertrain is mated to a smooth-shifting 6-speed dual-clutch (e-DCS6) automatic transmission, which seamlessly switches between petrol and electric power depending on driving conditions.
The result is fuel economy of 5.1L/100km (NEDC)—up to 15% more efficient than the traditional petrol engine—alongside CO₂ emissions of 129 g/km.
“The all-new Peugeot 5008 GT Hybrid brings a new level of refinement and practicality to the New Zealand SUV market. With its advanced hybrid powertrain, intelligent design, and 7-seat versatility, it meets the growing demand for vehicles that suit both urban lifestyles and weekend escapes,” says Brian Carr, General Manager – Sales of Auto Distributors New Zealand.
