MG Motor New Zealand has confirmed the arrival and pricing for the all-new, all-electric MGS5 EV.
The MGS5 EV is available in two battery sizes, 49kWh and 62kWh, with the Excite and Essence variants available for both. This will deliver a NEDC driving range of up to 515km and allow charging from 30% to 80% in 19 minutes. All variants have a maximum power of 125kW and 250Nm of torque.
Built on the same platform as the 5-star ANCAP-awarded MG4, the MGS5 EV uses MG’s Modular Scalable Platform, the battery is 110mm high, creating more space in the car.
The MGS5 EV comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the range, a hands-free power tailgate on the Essence variants, and features a 12.8” display screen with MG’s upgraded interface technology
This is all backed by MG’s 10-year/250,000km warranty*** and nearly 20 dealerships around New Zealand.
As a special launch offer to customers who order the MGS5 EV, MG New Zealand says it is excited to announce the first 30 customers who take delivery will receive a 7kW MG Charge Hub when they collect their car**. The MG Charge Hub allows owners to charge at higher speeds in the convenience of their own home.

Warranty & Roadside Assist
The MGS5 EV is backed with up to 10 years or 250,000km coverage when servicing with MG – seven years unlimited KM coverage standard, plus a three-year MG service-activated extension, providing MG drivers up to a total of 10 years or 250,000km of warranty, whichever comes first.
MG also offers service-activated roadside assist.
