GWM is expanding customer choice in New Zealand with the introduction of the new Haval H6 Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). Building on the recently launched H6 range, two new electrified variants will join the line-up, both featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain and available exclusively on the Ultra grade, in 2WD and AWD configurations.
The Ultra PHEV 2WD is priced from $50,990 SRRP (+ORC), while the range-topping Ultra PHEV AWD is available from $53,990 SRRP (+ORC). GWM claims these new models deliver an impressive combination of electric driving capability, hybrid efficiency, and high performance all wrapped in a bold new premium design.
Both Ultra PHEV models feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with dual electric motors, delivering a combined output of 240kW / 540Nm in the 2WD and 268kW / 760Nm in the AWD, the latter powered by GWM’s advanced Hi4 (Hybrid Intelligent 4WD) system. Despite the performance credentials — including 0–100km/h in 4.8 seconds (AWD) — fuel consumption remains low, at just 1.0L/100km for the 2WD and 1.1L/100km for the AWD (NEDC). Pure electric range is up to 106km (2WD) and 100km (AWD).
Both PHEV variants come standard with a CCS2 charging port and are capable of fast DC charging from 30–80% in under 30 minutes.
The specification of the Ultra PHEV models mirrors the top-tier equipment found across the H6 Ultra range, including:
- 14.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™
- Panoramic sunroof
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- 360-degree surround view camera with transparent chassis display
- Full suite of active safety features including Traffic Jam Assist, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, and Autonomous Emergency Braking
- Optional black or cream leather-accented interior trim
