Toyota New Zealand is saying the refreshed Corolla Cross promises to be everything we loved in the original Corolla Hatch, and everything they hoped for in the “ultimate compact SUV”.
They says the new Corolla Cross offers something for everyone – a perfect daily commuter, roomy and practical for everyday Kiwi driving needs. With a spacious interior and plenty of cargo capacity, the Corolla Cross is also the perfect weekend match for small families or couples who love to get out of the city on an impromptu road trip. With most grades boasting a 5-Star ANCAP rating, the Corolla Cross is also the perfect fleet partner.
With a 2.0L petrol engine paired to Toyota’s 5th generation hybrid tech, the Corolla Cross strikes a smart balance between affordability, efficiency, and low running costs. Claims the company.
Toyota New Zealand’s Chief Strategic Officer, Andrew Davis says the Corolla Cross delivers impressive fuel economy and lower carbon emissions, making it a smart pick for eco-conscious drivers and those looking to keep long-term costs down. “For years, Corolla has been the go-to for confidence, quality, and rock-solid reliability – the heart of what Toyota stands for. Now, the Corolla Cross takes that legacy and gives it a fresh twist: it’s efficient, smooth on the road, and packed with everyday versatility that fits right into Kiwi life,” Andrew says.
The refreshed 2025 Corolla Cross has a new front bumper and grille design. Colour lovers, rejoice – there’s plenty to choose from. Customers can add a unique flair with a range of new exterior colour options across most grades, with new shades like Massive Grey and Ash added, plus the Limited comes with the option of two-tones, giving the Corolla Cross a premium edge that stands out in a sea of silver SUVs.
Across the Corolla Cross range, every grade now includes a Vehicle Approach Notice which alerts pedestrians and other road users of the presence of a nearby slow-moving quiet vehicle. The GX, GXL, and Limited grades carry a 5-Star ANCAP rating.
The new Corolla Cross comes in four distinct grades – three Front-Wheel Drive options (GX, GXL, and Limited), plus, for the first time in New Zealand, an All-Wheel Drive GR Sport for those who want a sportier edge.
Andrew Davis says the 2025 Corolla Cross is built to help Kiwis live their best life, whether it be around town or a weekend escape – with smart tech, stylish upgrades, and features that put both driver and passenger front and centre.
“Corolla has been part of the Kiwi driving story for generations. This new improved model combines the reliability you love, with the features of your dreams,” he says.
With its fresh new look and upgraded specifications, and newly added GR Sport grade, Toyota New Zealand says it is sure the refreshed Corolla Cross range is going to hit the mark for a wide range of Kiwis.
