Zeekr, the global electric vehicle brand under the Geely, has officially launched the local pricing and specifications for the Zeekr 7X. The premium electric five-seater SUV features the world’s first “Golden Battery” capable of charging from 10% to 80% in 13 minutes and was unveiled at the Giltrap Group Supercar Show.

Michael Jones, Zeekr New Zealand Brand Manager, says that the Zeekr 7X is a compelling option for New Zealanders looking for a fully electric premium SUV that doesn’t compromise on style, space or performance.

“The Zeekr 7X is a game-changer for New Zealand drivers. With global sales of more than 520,000 vehicles, Zeekr has quickly established itself as one of the most innovative and successful premium electric brands in the world. It delivers performance that rivals sports cars, with 0–100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with the confidence of up to 615km of range. Combined with ultra-fast charging and a luxurious, high-tech cabin, it makes premium electric driving more exciting and affordable than ever before.”

The New Zealand pricing announcement follows the Australian market announcement in August which has seen 2,000 pre-orders for the 7X so far.

The Zeekr 7X will join the local lineup alongside the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 later this year. All Zeekr models are part of the NordEast portfolio – Giltrap Group’s new distribution division. NordEast has the six core Geely Group brands under one roof, promising what the company is to redefine what Kiwi can expect from electrification with a goal to deliver 5,000 electrified vehicles to the New Zealand market within three years.

2025 Zeekr 7X: Designed in Sweden: “Dynamic, distinctive, luxurious”

Created in Zeekr’s global design centre in Gothenburg, Sweden using SEA platform technology, the Zeekr 7X has a length of 4,787mm, height of 1,650mm, 2,900mm wheelbase, short overhangs and wheels up to 21-inches. There is a 539-litre luggage compartment at the rear and up to 62 litres (RWD grade) at the front.

Inside, the Zeekr 7X offers the same amount of room as a full-size SUV. The company claims it is a sanctuary of new luxury and technology, combining “exceptional space, comfort and refinement, for up to five occupants, with beautiful materials and finishes”. Features such as electric front and rear doors and heated and cooled front massage seats, offered on the Performance All-Wheel Drive model, make every journey feel special, says Zeekr.

2025 Zeekr 7X: Intelligent technology for every journey

The ultra-slim 16-inch HD touchscreen is fast and responsive says Zeekr, and there is an optional 36.2-inch augmented reality head-up display places key information directly in the driver’s line of sight.

Complementing these smart technologies is a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, facilitated by 12 cameras and one radar system. Designed to support the driver and make driving safer and more comfortable in a wide range of conditions, systems include moving object and pedestrian display in the instrument cluster or AR-HUD, Adaptive Cruise Control, 3D Digital Surround-View Monitoring, Front- and Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Fully Automatic Park Assist.

To further enhance the ownership experience, over-the-air software updates will ensure that features continue to improve over time and new functionality can be added.

2025 Zeekr 7X: Performance

The Rear-Wheel Drive and Long-Range models have a single, 310kW / 440Nm motor in the rear axle, delivering up to 480km and 615km respectively. The two light, compact electric motors integrated into the front and rear axles of the flagship Performance model generate a total output of 475kW / 710Nm of instant torque. Together with the traction and control benefits of all-wheel drive, the powertrain delivers a 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds.

Whenever the driver chooses to leave tarmac roads behind, the Performance model’s All-Wheel Drive capability is further enhanced by an off-road mode that optimises powertrain and traction control systems to suit a range of surfaces. Combined with active air suspension with continuous damper control, which increases ground clearance by up to 45mm, the Performance model is even better suited to challenging driving conditions, claims Zeekr.

2025 Zeekr 7X: Ultra-fast charging

The Zeekr 7X has a 800V system to enable ultra-fast charging, improve energy efficiency and reduce weight. The battery pack is located beneath the vehicle floor, lowering the centre of gravity and maximising cabin and luggage compartment space. The Rear-Wheel Drive model uses Zeekr’s “Golden Battery”, a 75kWh pack, while Long-Range and Performance models have a 100kWh battery pack, chosen for its greater energy density.

A 22kW on-board AC charger is standard, which enables customers with a 22kW home wallbox to replenish the battery from 10-100% in 4.5 hours for the Rear-Wheel Drive model, or 5.5 hours for Long-Range and Performance models.

The 800V electrical architecture means that the Zeekr 7X is future-proofed for advances in public charging and is capable of 450kW DC. Using the 360kW fast chargers commonly available today, the Zeekr 7X Rear-Wheel Drive can achieve 10-80% in 13 minutes, and 16 minutes for Long Range and Performance models.
