Hot on the heels of its global debut at last month’s Zurich Motor Show, the new Leapmotor C10 All-Wheel-Drive electric vehicle is now on sale in New Zealand.
“The latest addition to the Leapmotor electric SUV lineup is engineered for drivers who value power, versatility, and intelligent control,” said Brian Carr, General Manager – Sales, Auto Distributors New Zealand.

A key feature of the new model is that it is the first Leapmotor vehicle to feature 800V electrical architecture, enabling rapid DC charging to a peak power level of 180 kW and better thermal efficiency of the 81.9 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery, says the company.
This results in a rapid charge from 30% to 80% in 22-minutes, the improved charging efficiency and thermally stable chemistry is possible without any pre-heating, resulting in longer life cycle, reduction in stress across key components and excellent usable energy when compared with other battery types.
The C10 AWD features a dual motor all-wheel drive system and intelligent energy management.
The high-voltage motors operate more efficiently at high speeds, improving acceleration and power response. Additionally, Leapmotor claims the lightweight design of the 800V system is class-leading at 75kgs, it supports higher power regenerative braking, that further supports the driving range of 437km WLTP.
With a peak power of almost 440kW and maximum torque of 720 Nm, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds.
The AI Smart Electric Drive motor with Lifecycle Intelligent Upgrades enable electric drive health monitoring and cloud-based diagnostics. There is also deep learning of user driver behaviour to continuously enhance software strategies.
Inside, the C10 AWD offers a 14.6″ 2K infotainment screen, a 10.25″ digital cluster, and a 12-speaker, 840W sound system, a panoramic glass roof and up to 1,410 litres of cargo space.
Comfort and practicality are well thought-out with roomy storage and flexible seat folding. The ambient lighting and intuitive steering-wheel controls make the cabin feel modern and ‘connected,’ with OTA updates improving features over time.
The Leapmotor C10AWD is available from $64,990 (plus on-road costs) and can be purchased at Armstrong’s dealership locations in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
