BYD New Zealand has today officially announced the local pricing and specification for the first super-hybrid seven-seat family SUV, the BYD Sealion 8 (known as the BYD Tang L in other overseas markets). BYD claims the Sealion 8 combines cutting-edge Blade Battery technology, sophisticated design, and versatile performance to deliver an uncompromising vehicle experience.

The Sealion 8 range all feature BYD’s latest DMi 5.0 Super Hybrid plug-in powertrain, along with the proprietary new generation Blade Battery 2.0. The AWD variants boast BYD’s electric all-wheel-drive system, delivering exceptional traction and power, says the company.

The BYD Sealion 8 is now available for order through BYD New Zealand’s authorised dealership network. Customer deliveries are expected to commence from March 2026.
