BMW New Zealand will introduce the enhanced BMW M240i xDrive to the market this year, bringing notable increases in power and torque. The celebrated TwinPower Turbo in-line six engine of the new M240i xDrive now includes a 48-volt mild hybrid system. This has seen a 13kW increase in output, rising from 275kW to 288kW, while torque has lifted from 500Nm to 540Nm.
The M240i xDrive delivers outstanding acceleration times, achieving the standard sprint in 4.3-seconds. BMW claims it marries this with dynamic potential thanks to a honed chassis that integrates components and technology from the BMW 4 Series. The M240i xDrive performance coupé is now also more efficient than before thanks to the mild hybrid system.
Fuel consumption, according to the WLTP testing cycle, has reduced from 8.8–8.7 litres/100 km to 8.0 litres/100 km. CO2 emissions have also dropped from 200–199g/km to 183g/km. Specification of the M240i xDrive remains as before, with pricing starting at $119,900.
