Honda New Zealand has announced pricing for its first hybrid sports car, the all-new Honda Prelude.
Available in a single grade with a selection of five colours, the 2026 Prelude is available to order from Honda Centres from the 24th of April for $69,990+ORC.
Honda New Zealand Managing Director, Carolyn McMahon, said the all-new Prelude is the complete package, combining a truly head-turning car with an attractive price point, all complemented by an ownership experience that promises peace of mind.
“We’re fortunate to experience some of the world’s best driving roads in New Zealand, and now with the all-new Prelude, Kiwis will have a car that promises an elevated connected and fun driving experience,” said Ms McMahon.

The Prelude nameplate returns to the Honda line up after more than 25 years away and with its return, comes new technologies and a carefully considered design to invoke the power of dreams, says Honda.
With a design inspired by the aerodynamic efficiency coupled with the same performance chassis found on the Civic Type R, Honda claims the all-new Prelude has been carefully crafted to deliver a confidence-inducing and connected driving experience.
“The 2026 Prelude evokes the same character and emotions as its predecessors: combining a brave, daring and performance-led design, with a best-in-class hybrid engine, and attractive pricing. It’s the complete package,” said Ms McMahon.

“We’re also excited to launch our new S+ Shift technology to further enhance the joy of driving. I personally can’t wait for our customers to try it out for themselves”
Honda says its S+ Shift technology adds to the joy of the drive Prelude offers by simulating the sound and feel of quick automatic gear changes through an evocative engine note and a throttle response able to deliver a ‘kick’ and rev-matching throttle ‘blip’ felt during gear changes and engine braking, all at the push of a button.
The all-new Honda Prelude will launch in New Zealand at the end of April, fresh from collecting an early Car of the Year award for Best Couple in Europe’s Best Cars of the Year organisation at the 2025/2026 New Car World Championships.
