There’s yet another MINI model available, adding to the growing range of over 20 models currently on the New Zealand market.

According to MINI, this is a value-added offering with high levels of equipment and four exterior colour variations, and savings equate to $7,000 on Cooper and $4,000 on Cooper S.

Apparently the Stafford Edition complements its dynamic line-up of special edition Countryman models.

This latest special edition is inspired by MINI’s motorsport heritage and features John Cooper Works aesthetic details both inside and out. Its value offering is bolstered by the addition of luxury and sports packages as standard.

The savings accrued from these packages amount to $7,000 on the Cooper and $4,000 on the Cooper S.  Priced at $51,990* for the Countryman Cooper and $61,990* for the Countryman Cooper S (RRP incl. GST, excl. on-road and delivery costs), the MINI Countryman Stafford Edition is available in four striking exterior paint colours matched with a sporty black-themed interior.

MINI has also has a new online configurator for the Stafford Edition Countryman. Customers can customise their favourite options and make an online deposit with the MINI dealer of their choice without leaving the comfort of home.

This new feature arrives at an appropriate time with numerous MINI enthusiasts working from home.

Key highlights of the Cooper Countryman Stafford Edition are as follows:

  • John Cooper Works Exterior Styling Kit
  • 18-inch John Cooper Works Grip Spoke alloy wheels
  • Four Metallic Paint colour choices: Midnight Black, Light White, Chili Red, Island Blue
  • Carbon Black Sports Seats
  • Piano Black Interior
  • Anthracite Headliner

The Cooper S Countryman Stafford Edition includes all of the above and adds:

  • Panoramic Sunroof
  • Sun Protection Glazing
  • Harman Kardon Hi-Fi Sound System with 12 speakers and 8-channel amplifier

“The much-loved MINI Countryman gets another attractive special edition in the Stafford Edition, combining the marque’s famed go-kart driving experience with even more vibrant looks and fantastic value to match,” said Brett Waudby, General Manager of MINI Australia and New Zealand. “This is another great rendition of a British icon, and we are excited to see it in our showrooms.”

How on earth to start this? I've been car/bike/truck crazy since I was a teen. Like John, I had the obligatory Countach poster on the wall. I guess I'm more officially into classic and muscle cars than anything else - I currently have a '65 Sunbeam Tiger that left the factory the same day as I left the hospital as a newborn with my mother. How could I not buy that car? In 2016 my wife and I drove across the USA in a brand-new Dodge Challenger, and then shipped it home. We did this again in 2019 in a 1990 Chev Corvette - you can read about that trip on DriveLife, and again in 2023 buying a C5 Corvette and shipping it home. I'm a driving instructor and an Observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists - trying to do my bit to make our roads safer.
