Škoda New Zealand has advised that the recently announced fully electric Škoda Enyaq Sportline, will now become their “Launch Edition” model; still offering the same specification and arrival dates as has been already released, but now starting from $79,990 driveaway.

This makes the Launch Edition Enyaq SUV Sportline now eligible for the New Zealand Government Clean Car Rebate of $7,015.

When DriveLife went to the launch of the Enyaq, we came away impressed with the car, but with a little bit of sticker shock at the price. With today’s announcement, all 3 models of Enyaq have dropped by $13,000.

The Enyaq is one of three new all-electric vehicles Skoda launching over the next four years, with more to follow.

Škoda NZ General Manager, Rodney Gillard, says the company is delighted to see the interest from New Zealanders when it comes to electric vehicles.

“With the launch of the Enyaq range and the evolution of the Škoda brand to become more sustainable, we have seen real growth within the brand and one that Kiwis really seem to resonate with. We’re now thrilled to be able to offer our Enyaq “Launch edition” model that is eligible for the Clean Car Rebate.”

The Enyaq Launch Edition lineup is now available from:

  • Enyaq SUV Sportline $79,990 driveaway
  • Enyaq SUV Sportline Max $84,990 driveaway
  • Enyaq Coupe Sportline Max $89,990 driveaway

How on earth to start this? I've been car/bike/truck crazy since I was a teen. Like John, I had the obligatory Countach poster on the wall. I guess I'm more officially into classic and muscle cars than anything else - I currently have a '65 Sunbeam Tiger that left the factory the same day as I left the hospital as a newborn with my mother. How could I not buy that car? In 2016 my wife and I drove across the USA in a brand-new Dodge Challenger, and then shipped it home. You can read more on www.usa2nz.co.nz. We did this again in 2019 in a 1990 Chev Corvette - you can read about that trip on DriveLife. I'm a driving instructor and an Observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists - trying to do my bit to make our roads safer.
